Local Intermodal Loads in the Houston Freight Market
Along with an intermodal presence in Dallas, the DrayNow marketplace is available for both trucking carriers and intermodal freight customers in the Houston, Texas freight market.
The DrayNow mobile app gives truck drivers access to local intermodal loads in a marketplace model where they can choose what freight to take at any time. Intermodal drayage runs are typically within a 250-mile radius, which means that they will not usually exceed 500 miles round-trip. The DrayNow app will show the round-trip mileage on each load as well as the all-in price.
Intermodal loads will originate out of a rail yard, and the carrier will then take the drayage container from the rail yard to another location to get it loaded or unloaded. In the Houston region will be coming out of these rails: The Union Pacific Settegast Yard, BNSF Pearland and the KCS Ramp in Rosenberg.
Owner operators and all other trucking carriers that are interested in using the free DrayNow intermodal load board app to find local loads can use the link below to get started on the sign-up process.
Customers that can utilize the DrayNow platform for intermodal drayage capacity include intermodal marketing companies (IMCs), third-party logistics providers (3PLs), beneficial cargo owners (BCOs) and of course, shippers. The DrayNow platform taps into the owner operator market for intermodal capacity, maximizing the pool of truck drivers available to haul.
