Part One: Choosing a Load (0:00-2:38)

After successfully signing up for the DrayNow app, you will have access to the DrayNow marketplace where you can see all of the local intermodal freight in the area.

When you first enter the marketplace, be sure to set your market at the top of the screen. To specify what type of freight you’re looking for, you can use the Filter feature in the top right hand corner to set the parameters by the desired price and roundtrip distance.

Once you have the correct market and all of your preferred filters, picking up a load is simple. Before you even need to click on a trip, the app shows all of the pertinent details for that trip, including origin and destination locations, mileage, price, weight and appointment time.

When you zero in on a particular load to pick up, you will be able to see all of the trip information again along as well as the Request option to make it official. After requesting the load, you are all set to take this trip when the time comes!

Part Two: Starting a Trip (2:39-5:16)

Once you have picked up a load from the marketplace, the My Trips section at the bottom of the screen will have the trip you just selected. When it’s time to begin the trip, simply click into it and then hit Begin at the top right corner.

The first step of this particular Pickup trip is to drive to the equipment location. Once you arrive at the rail yard, you’re going to need to provide the SCAC code, reservation number and container number as it is shown in the app. Note that you will need to be registered for the rail in order to get accepted. For tips on how to quickly get your registration in line, check out this link here.

After clicking I’ve Arrived, it’s time to look for the container. Once you find the container, it’s important to do a thorough check and make sure that the chassis does not have any issues and the container does not have any holes. After that, it’s time to hook up to the container and input the Container and Chassis Numbers into the DrayNow app.

Part Three: Arriving at the Shipper (5:17-7:26)

After hooking up your container and chassis, it’s time to outgate the container, which means departing the equipment location. When you’re done completing this step, click I’ve Departed on the screen and head to the shipper. The address and appointment time is given to you at this step.

Once you have arrived, click I’ve Arrived, confirm you are at the correct location, and be ready to get your container loaded. If you’re on a live load, you need to stick with the same container. Once you are loaded, click Loaded and then go ahead and collect the bill of lading (BOL).

It’s important to make sure that the BOL is signed and contains in and out times. When you get the BOL, go into the app and enter the Container Number, Chassis Number, Seal Number, Pieces, Weight, and Destination City. After this, you will be ready to depart the shipper.

Part Four: Terminating the Load (7:27-9:42)

After inputting all of the pertinent information from the bill of lading (BOL), it’s time to scan the BOL, which is done right in the app. It’s important to make sure that the scan is clear and if the BOL is multiple pages, be sure to scan each page.

When everything with the BOL is settled, it’s time to depart the shipper, click I’ve Departed, and head to the termination location. The app gives you all of the details of the termination location at this point, as well as a place to scan the ingate receipt. You will also need to provide the SCAC code once again upon arrival at the rail yard.

Once you’re in the rail yard, you can terminate the load. This includes dropping the container and chassis here, and then hitting Load Terminated on the app screen. After this, you will be given the opportunity to add any accessorials to the trip, which could be anything from detention to stop offs. When that is completed, it’s time to hit Finish and this DrayNow trip will officially be completed.
