Since DrayNow carriers have the option to get paid directly on a weekly basis, it’s important to make sure all load details are in order before returning to the rail. Any inaccuracies or omissions may delay the timely and proper payment. Below are some tips in order to make sure you get paid properly for all loads you run from the DrayNow app.

When you return to the rail from a delivery or pickup, make sure that you have added all accessorials (detention, stopoffs, etc.) to the app before finishing the load out. Your paperwork should include handwritten in and out times, along with a customer signature, to ensure that you are getting the full amount for all accessorials. If there is any reason that your accessorials were inputted incorrectly, please make sure to communicate these to one of our team members to ensure proper payment.

For detention payment, it’s important to remember that detention refers to time waiting at the shipper or consignee, not the rail. Detention at the shipper or consignee starts one hour after the scheduled appointment time for drop and hooks, and after two hours for live loads or unloads.

Speaking of documents, proper document scanning is another hurdle that sometimes delays payment. Ensure that all pages are visible in their entirety, with no edges cut off or blurry pages, as these are the two main factors for document rejection. If you’re having issues getting a good copy, again, please communicate these to a team member.

Accessorials occasionally take a few days to be resolved by the customer, but following the steps above will help greatly in getting your loads closed out faster and getting payment to you on time.

Finally, make sure you finish out the load on your app before heading to your next load, again, ensuring all accessorials have been accounted for. Leaving a load in progress on the app will only cause a delay in payment.

Keeping these tips in mind will help you to avoid unnecessary payment delays, and therefore will give you more time to continue successfully driving with DrayNow.
